Exciting young composer Luke Phillips is fast making a name for
himself within the world of media composition. A multi-instrumentalist with diverse influences ranging from the impressionist ambience of Claude Debussy to the electronic, rhythm heavy elements of Radiohead as well as seminal film composer Thomas Newman, Phillips is an extremely versatile artist with a mature understanding of what each different visual media product needs in terms of soundtrack that belies his youth as well as appreciating the importance of flexibility with regards to clients demands.

Prior to even graduating with a first-class BA (Hons.) Degree in Composition for Professional Media, Phillips had already begun working on his debut feature film soundtrack, British drama A Congregation of Ghosts starring respected Golden Globe and BAFTA winner Edward Woodward. The soundtrack is an emotive cavalcade of layered string sweeps and subtle, mood-enhancing piano melodies which enhance the sumptuous cinematography of the Mark Collicott directed feature. A hugely emotive and haunting body of work, A Congregation of Ghosts’ soundtrack was created through blending together organically recorded instruments together with digitally-controlled samples, manipulated through computer editing technology. His favoured approach, such integration of progressive as well as tried-and-tested technology allows Phillips to create an array of different styles to suit any need or media product – be it feature or documentary film, advertising or video-game soundtracking.

An exciting talent on the cusp of a no doubt successful career, the composer is currently available for new projects. To contact him please email info@luke-phillips.com or phone +44 7938 559176.
